You are going to be a part of the Finance team of Ampleon

The finance team of Ampleon is based in 2 locations, Nijmegen and Manila Philippines. You are going to be part of the team in Nijmegen where Financial Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis are coming together. The Nijmegen team is an experienced team with engaged and passionate people.

A look into the life of the Junior Business and Data Controller at Ampleon

You will act as a finance professional and maintain an important relationship with business partners and stakeholders, like cost center owners and project managers, by providing insights on the financial performance and by driving continuous improvement. You will be responsible for contributing to an efficient and effective financial closing, reporting and analysis. The focus of this position is to generate overview, providing effective financial analysis/control and improve administrative processes, supported by data.

In this role, you will: 

  • Take a proactive role to help the further deployment of Data Analytics within Ampleon, by developing and maintaining dashboards
  • Be responsible for controlling the Global Operating expenses within the company, for those topics:
    • Cost center reporting
    • Project control related to R&D projects (including hours)
    • R&D Capitalization and impairment testing
    • Post mortems on capitalized R&D
  • Discuss financial reports with business partners and stakeholders in relation to the cost center overview and OPEX control
  • Analyse the status and progress of Subsidy programs
  • Provide solid analysis from a financial perspective
  • Continuously improve processes resulting into more transparency and efficiency
  • Support the finance department with ad hoc analysis

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has the following background and capabilities: 

  • You have excellent communication skills in English
  • Bachelor (+) level in a Finance related study
  • At least 4 years working experience as financial controller, auditing, accounting or finance
  • Experience with financial reporting and accounting
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel
  • Experience with ERP FICO (SAP preferred) and Power BI or similar is preferred
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Intellectual capacity to digest complex information, see trends and analysis through data
  • Strong in pioneering and geared towards improving financial processes
  • Proactive and self-driven
  • Ability to balance speed and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders in the organization
  • Experience in an international technical environment is an advantage
