You are going to be a part of

the New Product Introduction (NPI) Quality Engineering team within Ampleon’s R&D organization, located in Toulouse, France or Nijmegen, The Netherlands. The team develops world-leading, highly advanced RF power products for 5G and MultiMarket applications. This multidisciplinary group includes engineers with deep expertise in LDMOS, GaN, GaAs, MMICs, and RF PA modules, applying various packaging technologies. The focus of this role is on MMIC and RF PA Module products.

A look into the life of a NPI Quality Engineer for MMIC and PA Modules at Ampleon

As an NPI Quality Engineer, you will build and maintain a well-structured reliability program and database, capturing and achieving customer quality requirements, predicting reliability based on failure mechanisms, accelerating time to market, and establishing Ampleon’s quality reputation through timely communication and consistent performance that meets customer expectations.

Your challenge:

  • Obtain, store, and maintain Customer Requirements and Quality Contracts
  • Define and execute qualification and reliability plans, including potential failure analysis for different technologies, product and process changes, and various applications, by thoroughly understanding product characteristics and customer requirements
  • Investigate potential failure mechanisms, triggers to failure or failing conditions, and failure acceleration methods
  • Determine acceleration factors and define failure classifications (relevant/non-relevant) based on data and failure analysis
  • Generate and update structural similarity rules used as references for reliability testing
  • Create qualification and reliability reports, either internally according to project plans or externally following customer requests
  • Develop and maintain a Reliability Monitoring plan to periodically verify the quality and reliability performance of final products
  • Ensure policies, processes, and procedures are aligned with customer requirements
  • Support the definition of Safe Launch/Line Stressing control plans during early production
  • Conduct reliability knowledge gathering (through experiments and literature)
  • Initiate or support knowledge-sharing activities
  • Stay up to date with innovative technical developments in relevant areas by following industry trends and interacting with leading universities and institutes

Your profile
  • Master’s or PhD degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in MMIC and PA Module quality and reliability
  • Expert or strong knowledge of RF semiconductor design and manufacturing, including LDMOS, GaN, GaAs, MMICs, RF PA modules, and packaging technologies
  • Experience in reliability engineering, including a solid understanding of JEDEC/MIL-STD standards and qualification planning
  • Familiar with wafer fab processes, module assembly, and RF test methods
  • Proficient in FMEA, 8D problem-solving, and data analytics
  • Understanding of materials science, failure mechanisms, and physical failure analysis techniques
  • Experienced in statistical methodologies to analyze data and develop statistical models of reliability probability
  • Quality-conscious, with strong knowledge of quality system standards
  • Able to work in and lead problem-solving teams (Six Sigma and 8D approach)
  • Creative, with a hands-on mentality and a strong team spirit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A driven professional focused on results and time to market
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, for travel and activities such as conference calls across different time zones
  • Fluent in business English
